The iPad Air 2 is 18% thinner and a little lighter in weight. The Retina display is better as it is thinner and the colors and clarity is much better to my eyes. The parallax side views are clearer and the colors are deeper and more realistic. It still has 264 pixels per inch and it is an excellent video device. The iPad Air 2 has the newer finger print sensor on the home button. The rear facing camera is in a different location on the back of the tablet and so your iPad Air cases will not work as they will interfere with your taking photos.

The microphone ports on the tablet have moved and I show the new locations in my video. The portal holes for the stereo speakers are just one row now and larger and the speakers are louder sounding. Not a major difference but it is noticeable.
The slide switch on the side of the tablet for the mute/screen lock rotate is gone now. You have to make those adjustments in the operating system of the tablet now or use the sound volume switches.

Apple iPad Air 2 complete review
The camera on the iPad Air 2 is much improved over previous generations. It is by far the best camera Apple has ever made in a tablet. It now supports an 8MP sensor with a wider aperture, meaning the camera performs better in low light situations. It also includes slow motion video at 120 frames per second. This means you can get some really cool action video and slow it down for a cool effect, but this is more novelty than it is a necessity.

The display on the iPad Air 2 is really, really good. Before this version of the tablet, the display was separated into three parts. There was the glass, the touch sensor, and the LCD. Now, these three layers are merged into one. Colors are amazingly vivid and lifelike, and it seems like you're touching the pixels directly.
The iPad Air 2 is powered by a custom Apple A8X chip. This chip is amazingly fast and fluid. Along with the included 2GB of RAM, this chip outperforms every current Apple mobile device, including the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. (Not including their laptops). You'll be good to go with any task with this beast of a chip powering your device.
The iPad Air 2 now includes the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Unlocking the iPad is a breeze, and paying for goods within apps such as Amazon is really handy too. However, if you want to unlock the true potential of Touch ID, I suggest jailbreaking your iPad and installing a tweak such as BioLockDown.
